If you are joining us on the last Sunday of any month, stay for our Sunday Social.
Refreshments and Fellowship for all!
Let us know you’re coming.
We want you to feel welcome and comfortable during your first visit on Sunday, so we've attempted to answer a few common questions. Here's what you can expect on Sundays.
WHAT KIND OF CHURCH ARE YOU?
We're a Lutheran church. That means we believe in the Bible as God's Word, in Jesus as the only true Savior of all the world's sins and in the gracious work of God through the gospel in baptism and the Lord's Supper.
I rejoiced with those who said to me, "Let us go to the house of the LORD."
Psalm 122:1
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?
St. Jacob is about 5 miles NE of I-94 on Riethmiller Rd. between Mt. Hope and Waterloo-Munith Roads. Take Exit 150 (Mt. Hope) then go north on Mt. Hope Rd. Click for Google Maps
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
On any Sunday at our church you may see running shoes and heels, jeans and suits, open collars and ties. When a person dresses out of love for his or her Lord, the choice of dress, be it casual or more formal, is acceptable to God . . . and us.
We are looking forward to meeting you!

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING THE WORSHIP SERVICE?
Our worship services usually include the following parts in a variety of forms:
The Invocation - We call on the name of our Savior Lord as we praise Him with song
Admitting Sins and Receiving Forgiveness - We acknowledge that we have not been or done what God asks, Then we are assured of forgiveness in Jesus
Bible Readings - We read selections from God's Old Testament prophets, Jesus' apostles, and from Jesus Himself. Our pastor also gives a brief explanation of each reading/
Sermon - Our pastor offers instruction and encouragement in a Bible-based sermon for children and adults alike. Young or old, you can expect God's guidance and grace through His Word for dealing with life's problems, as well as the promise of eternal life in heaven through our only Savior Jesus
Response to the Word - We respond with offerings and prayers for the things He has promised to us and for strength to do what He has asked.
Parting Blessing - Before we return home for the week, we hear one last assurance of the Lord's gracious care.
Throughout these different parts of our service, we praise our gracious God with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs from the entire history of God's Church. During some services, our members partake of the Lord's Supper. Our worship services use traditional forms, but modern language and application. This "blended" style of worship brings out the best of the traditional and the contemporary. The traditional brings us the best from God's Church throughout the ages, while the contemporary brings God's promises and his will into our daily lives. We hope you will enjoy both as we worship our gracious Lord together!
HOW SHOULD I PARTICIPATE IN THE OFFERING?
As our guest, we will not expect you to contribute an offering, nor do we want to pressure you into doing so. You may wish to learn more about our ministry before bringing your offerings to God through our church, but you are welcome to participate as your heart leads you to give.
WHAT ABOUT MY KIDS? WILL THEY ATTEND WORSHIP WITH ME?
Our congregation is much like a family with infants and kids and teens and adults and elderly. It is not unusual to hear the cry of a baby mixed in with the sound of hymns or readings. If, however, at any time you feel the need, we have a nursery room available where you can bring your child. This room is equipped with closed-circuit television so that you may watch the worship service from there. Also, if you have a little one who needs a change, diaper changing stations can be found in both men's and ladies' restrooms. We also have activity bags for small children to use during the worship service; these are available in the church narthex (entryway).
